As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client is seeking an experienced, organised, and service-driven House Manager for placement at a reputable drug rehabilitation centre in Plettenberg Bay. This role mirrors that of a guesthouse or lodge manager and requires strong hospitality experience, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to oversee the smooth running of the centre's residential environment. The successful candidate must be hands-on, attentive, and capable of maintaining high operational standards.
Responsibilities:
Facility & Housekeeping Management
- Oversee the daily cleanliness, order, and presentation of all rooms and communal areas.
- Supervise housekeeping staff and ensure schedules and standards are consistently met.
- Conduct regular inspections of rooms and facilities.
- Manage linen, laundry, and room readiness requirements.
Kitchen & Catering Oversight - Oversee the day-to-day functioning of the kitchen.
- Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring hygiene, food safety, and service standards are maintained.
- Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management, ordering, and cost awareness.
- Ensure mealtimes are well-coordinated, punctual, and supportive of the centre's routines.
Operations & Logistics - Manage stocks and supplies for cleaning, kitchen, and general consumables.
- Coordinate with maintenance providers for repairs and upkeep of facilities.
- Assist with organising daily operational activities and ensuring smooth workflow across departments.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and organised environment for all residents.
Resident & Guest Support - Welcome new residents and manage room allocations and orientation.
- Provide a warm, structured environment while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Respond to resident needs, concerns, and general queries in a calm and supportive manner.
- Liaise closely with administrative, clinical, and kitchen teams.
Administrative Duties - Maintain logs, inventories, checklists, and operational documentation.
- Assist with staff scheduling for housekeeping and kitchen teams.
- Report incidents, concerns, and facility issues to management promptly.
Requirements: - Guesthouse/B&B/lodge management or hospitality supervision experience (essential).
- Experience managing housekeeping and kitchen/catering teams
- Strong organisational and multitasking ability.
- Ability to uphold high cleanliness, hygiene, and service standards.
- Excellent communication and people-management skills.
- Professional, reliable, and able to work independently.
- Must reside in the Plettenberg Bay area
- Valid driver's licence.
