1st Line IT Support Engineer
Location:Stoke On Trent Salary: £24,000 - £27,000 per annum (DOE) Hours: Mon-Thu 08:30-16:45 | Fri 08:30-15:30 Contract: Permanent
Hunters 4 Staff are supporting a well‑established business looking for a confident and reliable 1st Line IT Support Engineer. If you enjoy problem‑solving, helping people, and keeping systems running smoothly, this position will suit you well.
You'll be part of an internal IT team, providing day‑to‑day support across multiple sites and working with a good mix of hardware, software, and business systems.
Key Responsibilities
Handling 1st line support queries via phone, email and the service desk
Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
Installing and configuring PCs, laptops and other IT equipment
Supporting Windows, Microsoft 365 and Active Directory
Diagnosing network, Wi-Fi and printing issues
Logging and updating support tickets
Working with the development team to test and support in‑house software
The ideal candidate
Previous experience in a 1st Line Support or similar IT role
Confident communication and customer service skills
Good working knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft 365
Basic understanding of networking (DNS, DHCP, IP addressing)
Experience with AD user and device management
Someone organised, proactive and happy to get stuck in
