OUR PROJECTS AND INFRASTRUCTURE TEAM
We are looking for a Manager/ Senior Consultant to work alongside our established industry leaders in the planning and delivery of region-shaping projects. We work with government and private sector clients across a range of sectors to transform projects into reality.
This is an opportunity to join our growing Project and Infrastructure Advisory team, helping to shape New Zealand’s infrastructure network of the future. You will work on government and private sector projects across a broad and diverse range of sectors including: transport; health; social and cultural infrastructure; tourism and sport; energy and renewables; agribusiness; resources; water and waste; manufacturing; housing; education; and justice.
You will be joining a small team of forward-thinking professionals and given the opportunity to work across a diverse range of engagements from strategic planning and policy development, business cases and feasibility studies, economic appraisals, financial and commercial analysis and project delivery support.
THE ROLE
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high profile project and infrastructure advisory engagements.
- Evaluating project feasibility through strategic assessments, analysing project options and delivering economic and financial appraisals.
- Assisting or leading with the preparation of presentations, reports and developing meeting agendas and minutes.
- Actively participating in project meetings, providing input and contributing to project outcomes.
- Supporting or leading the delivery of engagements including the preparation of project plans, budgets, schedules, risks, progress reporting and invoicing.
- Business development activities including engaging with current and potential future clients and tracking potential engagement opportunities.
- Developing pursuit strategies and proposals.
- Contributing to team growth strategies and sector prioritisation initiatives.
- Contributing to team planning and development.
ABOUT YOU We are looking for somebody who is eager to learn, is adaptable, and has a proactive approach to tackling challenges. You should have a strong desire to develop your skills, with a willingness to seek out opportunities for growth. We are seeking a candidate who enjoys collaborating with others and working in a team environment. Above all, you are able to put yourself in the clients’ shoes and are interested in helping them to solve their most complex problems.
Ideally, you will have a degree or professional qualification in either finance, commerce, engineering, economics, law and/or project management.
A minimum of 2 years of Project and Infrastructure Advisory experience for the Senior consultant role and 4/5 years for a Manager level role in a similar environment within New Zealand is essential.
Technically, you will bring:
- communication skills and an ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- research and writing skills to develop reports and business cases.
- excel modelling competency, and an interest in developing your understanding of financial and economic appraisals.
- across the Microsoft suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
