About the role
As a BAS Senior 1 Accountant, you will work with clients to plan for sustainable business growth by identifying their business issues, creating a plan, and making it happen. You will handle a variety of tasks, including external reporting, management accounting, and tax preparation, while providing expert advice and developing strong client relationships.
Our team provides personalised services to clients based on their unique needs and to meet the challenges at every stage of their life cycle. To excel in you will need to not only understand financial concepts, but also be a great communicator, be able to work with and without guidance and as part of our team.
This role is working out of our Auckland CBD office, 8.30am – 5.00pm, 37.5hrs per week, Monday – Friday. The salary range for this role is between $70,000 - $80,000 plus benefits and relocation allowance.
Key Responsibilities
- Applies relevant standards and pronouncements appropriately
- Is able to provide assistance and explanations to graduate staff
- Determine the external reporting policies and expectations of an entity
- Reviews client’s reports and identifies issues for discussion with the client
- Prepares complex financial statements with minimal review points
- Participate in managing the external reporting function
- Prepares draft statements with minimal review points
- Liaises with clients and prepares detailed managements reports and/or letters to clients
- Is aware of changes to tax legislation and legal decisions
- Identifies tax planning and restructuring opportunities for clients and discusses with supervisor
- Prepare and file returns in accordance with legal requirements
- Is able to research and complete complex calculations of holiday pay
- Identifies issues, researches and provides recommendations to supervisor
- Identifies trust planning opportunities for clients and discusses with supervisor
Experience We are looking for someone who is experienced, has strong commercial acumen and looking for career growth with:
- Minimum of 2 years of Business Advisory Services experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance & studying towards qualifying as a Chartered Accountant or equivalent
- A high level of interpersonal skills
- Strong written and oral skills in both English and Mandarin
- Confident, commercially savvy, innovative, detail-oriented
