About the role
Based in Auckland City, our Audit Manager leads the end‑to‑end planning, fieldwork and delivery of audits, reporting to Audit Partners. You’ll set clear expectations, manage workflow and deadlines across multiple engagements, and foster a positive team culture where seniors and Assistant Managers coach and develop juniors. A confident communicator, you keep clients and partners informed and aligned throughout.
Commercially savvy and technically strong, you apply audit methodology, uphold ethics and quality, and shape efficient approaches that address key risks. You’ll manage budgets and timelines, build trusted client relationships, and lift team capability by sharing knowledge and leading training—delivering high‑quality, on‑time outcomes that reflect our values.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead audit engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring timely and high‑quality delivery.
- Manage team workflow and deadlines, keeping partners and stakeholders informed of progress.
- Coach and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and positive learning environment.
- Communicate expectations clearly to the team and provide constructive feedback regularly.
- Apply audit methodology and accounting standards effectively across all engagements.
- Ensure compliance with ethics, independence, and quality standards, mitigating risks appropriately.
- Identify audit and accounting issues early and recommend practical solutions to partners and clients.
- Manage budgets and timelines, including cost analysis and discussions with clients.
- Build strong client relationships, balancing client requirements with audit deliverables.
- Contribute to technical capability uplift, leading complex training sessions and sharing knowledge.
Experience We are looking for someone who is experienced, has strong commercial acumen and looking for career growth with:
- 5+ years of audit experience within a professional services business.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- CA or ACA qualified.
- Strong understanding of audit methodology and accounting standards.
- String written and oral skills in English
