We’re BDO Southern Lakes & Central Otago – a expanding team across four branches, deeply rooted in our community and growing with purpose. We’re creating a new role for a People & Culture Manager to lead our people strategy, shape a thriving culture, and support our leaders and teams to do their best work.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the People Function – Own all aspects of HR including recruitment, onboarding, retention, and performance development
• Shape Culture – Build a values-led, high-performing, connected culture across our teams
• Support & Advise – Partner with leaders on people-related matters, leadership capability, and staff wellbeing
• Drive Initiatives – Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and the overall employee experience
• Report & Communicate – Share progress and insights through people reporting, updates, and conversations that add value
• Stay Connected – Be visible and approachable across all branches, building strong relationships with team members

What you’ll bring:

• Proven experience in HR or people leadership roles – ideally in a multi-site or professional services setting
• A hands-on, practical approach – with the ability to follow through and deliver
• Strong understanding of recruitment, performance, engagement, and workplace culture
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – with the ability to influence and coach
• A strategic mindset – but comfortable rolling up your sleeves
• Integrity, empathy, and a naturally people-first approach
• A sense of humour and a genuine interest in making work a better place for others
