About the Role
As a team member in our successful Audit team, you will get exposure to working with a diverse range of clients. You’ll join a team that is truly imbedded in the Hawke’s Bay community.

• Salary Range $68,000 – 75,000
• Hours Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm

Key duties include

• Make logical, sound, and timely decisions in accordance with standards,regulations, and experience
• Gather appropriate audit evidence for the work undertaken and identifies matters that should be escalated to manager and partner
• Explore all alternative avenues before formulating a solution and draw accurate conclusions from the information available
• Quality and Risk Compliance – Adhere to compliance requirements to improve quality and reduce risk
• Understand BDO audit quality and professional standard requirement and demonstrates that in work undertaken
• Ensure audit timelines and deadlines are met
• Adhere to an appropriate and effective set of ethical values in the delivery of professional services
• For any audit and/or accounting issue, identifies information needed and facts and evidence, and consults and escalates reliably on issues beyond his/her own experience or skillset.
• Can efficiently and effectively complete a full disclosure checklist finding relevant and incomplete disclosure items

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:

• A Bachelors degree in accounting or with accounting specialty/major
• A minimum 2 years of recent relevant audit experience
• Practical experience using Xero and APT software is essential
• CA or working towards a CA qualification is essential
