Key Requirements: Ideally, your experience to date will include:
- A minimum of 2-3 years experience working in business advisory within a NZ accounting firm
- You have high standards and value accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with staff and clients
- Positive team player with drive to further your career and willingness to take accountability for your own work and development
- Strong written and oral communication and the ability to self manage and act decisively to solve problems
- Have an undergraduate degree in accounting or similar
The role is located at our BDO Rotorua office and is a full time (40 hours per week) role. Salary will depend on experience but a range of $68,000 - $78,000 (plus additional benefits) is expected.

The key tasks of this role include: - Prepare coding of work / client workpapers for annual financial statements / taxation returns for all categories of clients from job allocation stage to review stage.
- Finalise financial statements / taxation returns following client interview, including monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual accounting for some clients.
- Preparation of GST/PAYE/FBT/RWT returns in accordance with practice policies / systems in place.
- Prepare monthly reporting for clients to review stage and prepare correspondence to clients.
- Responding to client queries appropriately and in a timely manner
- Responding to Inland Revenue Department and other agency queries in a timely manner
- To undertake special assignments as required by the Partners
