About the Company
Our client is an Australian owned fintech lender backed by five years of platform investment, funding small and medium businesses across the country. Under 100 people, based in the Sydney CBD, and now building out product as a standalone function for the first time.
About the Role
The first product hire in the business, reporting to the COO and working directly with the CEO and exec team. You will sit within the platform delivery and technology team of seven, own the product roadmap end to end, and take customer experience under product ownership, with a team to build behind you.
Benefits
- $200,000 to $230,000 plus superannuation, with a bonus that is historically paid
- Genuine ownership as the first product hire, with a direct line to the COO and CEO and a mandate to grow the function
- Four days in the office, Monday to Thursday, in a business that is deliberately collaborative rather than distributed
- Sydney CBD location, regular team events, and ongoing health and wellbeing initiatives
Duties / Key Responsibilities - Set the product vision and own the roadmap across origination, decisioning, settlement and servicing
- Get in front of small and medium business customers and broker partners, and turn what you hear into prioritised work
- Bring customer experience under product ownership and rethink how the end to end journey is designed
- Work with the platform and technology team, and the offshore engineering partners they manage, to get the roadmap built
- Sit with the exec team on commercial decisions and help set the direction of the business
Skills and Experience - Product leadership gained in a start up, scale up, fintech or financial services business
- Real roadmap and strategy ownership, not delivery management alone
- Comfortable speaking directly to customers and using data to back your decisions
- Commercially minded and accountable for outcomes rather than outputs
- Able to influence across credit, risk, operations, sales and compliance without direct authority
- Lending, broker or other third party channel experience is well regarded but not essential
