About our Opportunity:
The Print Room Manager will be responsible for the quality and timely output of the print room inclusive of material management, printing press efficiencies, despatch and labour allocation.
This role involves utilising previous printing and management experiences to meet the customer demands as efficiently as possible through liaising with other printing staff, ink technicians, graphic reproducers, planning, plate room operators and customer service representatives.
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Model business values by fostering an inspiring, safe, and collaborative work environment.
- Lead, mentor, and support team members, including Printers, Ink Technicians, and Warehouse staff, with clear objectives and training plans.
- Develop and manage annual budgets, covering expenses, labour forecasts, and capital equipment needs.
- Oversee Print Room labour scheduling to meet customer demands efficiently.
- Implement and maintain a preventative maintenance program to ensure equipment reliability.
- Uphold and continuously improve safety, efficiencies and quality standards in line with company policies.
- Utilise software tools to optimise workflows and meet production targets and quality specifications.
- Drive continuous improvement through training and addressing customer complaints as opportunities for growth.
- Maintain high-quality control standards to minimise errors and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Present the Print Room at a professional standard, reinforcing the Studio Labels brand during customer and visitor interactions.
To be successful in this role you will have: - Certificate IV or higher in Printing Technology (preferred).
- 2+ years of experience managing small teams.
- Proven expertise in flexographic and/or digital printing.
- Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and efficiency.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Completion of training in Continuous Improvement methodologies such as LEAN, Six Sigma, or TPM (desirable).
- Proactive and professional team player (desirable).
