About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our team on a large-scale Battery Energy Storage System Project located in Newcastle on a full-time project-based contract basis. Reporting to the Site Manager you be responsible for providing engineering support and assistance to our project team, and to assist with engineering duties as required to ensure a successful project completion.
In addition, some of your key tasks will include;
- Coordinating with project management, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of project milestones.
- Review, create, issue and follow up all requests for information (RFI’s)
- Review, create, issue and follow up all Field Change Documents (FCD’s)
- Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during the construction and commissioning phases.
- Ensure compliance with Australian electrical codes and standards.
About You
To be successful in this position you will hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and have proven experience within construction, commissioning, and design activities on large-scale industrial or energy projects.
You will also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Experience in reviewing and approving inspection and test sheets
- Experience in the preparation and review of work packs
- Contribute to weekly project reports
- Manage as-built documentation
- Resolve engineering and design issues as they arise
- Maintain the completions system and provide regular reporting on progress
- Ability to interpret design documentation, including schematics, termination diagrams, earthing diagrams, and cable schedules
- Ability to interpret the Project Contractual requirements
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organisational skills and a high-level attention to detail
- Well-developed numeracy and analytical skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a high functioning team
