THE OPPORTUNITY. Brockville General Hospital (BGH) is seeking dedicated Hospitalists to join our Department of Family Medicine. Operating within their recently expanded 170-bed facility, including the new Donald B. Green Tower, you will provide acute care to a diverse inpatient population. You will work within a modern clinical ecosystem featuring the Lumeo Regional HIS (Oracle Health/Cerner), ensuring you have the data you need at your fingertips to provide the best possible care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Oversee daily inpatient rounds for an estimated 20 to 22 patients per shift, focusing on diagnosis, treatment, and care coordination.
- Work as part of a collaborative three-physician hospitalist team supported by a shared Physician Assistant and an internal medicine admissionist.
- Participate in a seven-day rotation (Sunday to Monday) with a commitment to approximately two to three calls per week.
- Engage with a multidisciplinary team including physiotherapy, social work, and specialized in-house services like GIM, urology, and psychiatry.
- Mentor and teach medical learners and residents in our active postgraduate education environment.
PROFESSIONAL PROFILE (COMPETENCIES). Licensure: Must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
Certification: Board certification in either Family Medicine (CCFP) or Internal Medicine (FRCPC).
Education: M.D. or equivalent.
Skills: Strong interdisciplinary collaboration skills, a commitment to clinical excellence, and proficiency in English.
Commitment: Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to a culture of patient safety.
