THE OPPORTUNITY. Define the future of surgical care in Eastern Ontario at HGH. As a regional leader in bilingual healthcare, HGH offers a unique opportunity for a General Surgeon to build a high-impact practice within a newly redeveloped $160M facility. You will join a collaborative medical team of 200 physicians dedicated to serving the United Counties of Prescott-Russell with precision, innovation, and compassion. HGH is a teaching site affiliated with the University of Ottawa, offering opportunities for medical education and research.

THE CLINICAL ENVIRONMENT. Practice in a state-of-the-art facility equipped with three modern operating rooms, a specialized endoscopy unit, and the Epic Health Information System (Stage 6). HGH handles over 5,500 procedures annually, providing a robust caseload for specialists looking to maximize their clinical reach. You will be supported by a multidisciplinary team, including anaesthetists and registered first nurse assistants, within an environment that has achieved "Exemplary Standing"from Accreditation Canada.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.

• Provide comprehensive surgical consultations and operative management for a diverse patient population.
• Lead subspecialty interventions in Colorectal surgery (rectal prolapse), Hiatal Hernia repair, and Anti-Reflux surgery.
• Perform advanced endoscopic procedures, including Advanced Polypectomy (EMR/ESD).
• Collaborate with the General Surgery Clinic and Perioperative Services to ensure seamless patient transitions and high-quality outcomes.
• Participate in the surgical on-call rotation to support regional emergency needs.

PROFESSIONAL PROFILE (COMPETENCIES). Licensure: Must hold or be eligible for a certificate of registration from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC). Language: Full professional proficiency in both English and French is mandatory. Skills: Demonstrated expertise in Colorectal fellowship-level procedures and advanced endoscopy. Commitment: A focus on community impact and a desire to establish a long-term practice in a bilingual regional setting.
