About Otago Cricket:
Otago Cricket is one of New Zealand Cricket's six Major Associations, responsible for leading and growing the game across Otago and Southland. With a proud history, passionate cricket community, strong high-performance programmes and an ambitious vision for the future, we are seeking an outstanding executive to lead the organisation into its next chapter. About the Role:
Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic and operational leadership across all areas of Otago Cricket. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the organisation's strategic vision, ensuring financial sustainability, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and creating an environment where both community and high-performance cricket can thrive. You will lead a talented and motivated team while working closely with New Zealand Cricket, District Associations, commercial partners, local government, schools, clubs, volunteers and the wider cricket community.
 
Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the development and execution of Otago Cricket's strategic priorities.
• Drive participation growth and engagement across Otago and Southland.
• Support high-performance programmes that develop future WHITE FERNS, BLACKCAPS and domestic representatives.
• Ensure strong financial management, governance and organisational sustainability.
• Build meaningful relationships with stakeholders throughout the cricket ecosystem.
• Identify and secure commercial opportunities, partnerships and revenue streams.
• Create a high-performing culture that develops and empowers outstanding people.
• Champion innovation and ensure Otago Cricket continues to adapt and evolve in a changing sporting landscape.

 
About You:
We are seeking an experienced and relationship-based leader who can balance community impact, sporting success and commercial sustainability. You will bring:

• Proven senior leadership experience as a CEO, General Manager or equivalent.
• Strong commercial, financial and business acumen.
• A demonstrated ability to develop and implement organisational strategy.
• Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working effectively with Boards and governance structures.
• A track record of leading and developing high-performing teams and culture.
• Strong emotional intelligence, communication skills and leadership presence.
• The ability to innovate, adapt and identify future opportunities.
• A genuine passion for cricket, sport and community development.
