ABOUT THE ATHLETE LEADERS NETWORK (ALN)
The Athlete Leaders Network (ALN) is an independent athlete-led organisation established to strengthen the voice, leadership and wellbeing of athletes across Aotearoa New Zealand's high performance sport system. ALN plays an important role across the high-performance landscape - championing athlete voice, fostering leadership development, supporting athlete wellbeing and contributing positively to the future of sport in New Zealand. ALN works collaboratively across the sector with athletes, National Sporting Organisations, the NZOC, HPSNZ, Paralympics New Zealand and wider partners, while remaining proudly athlete-centred, values-led and operationally independent.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Athlete Leaders Network is seeking an experienced and values-driven Chair to lead the organisation through its next phase of growth and impact. This is a unique governance leadership opportunity within New Zealand sport - suited to an individual who is passionate about athlete voice, wellbeing, leadership and creating environments where athletes can thrive both in and beyond sport.
As Chair, you will provide strategic and cultural leadership to the Board, ensuring ALN remains athlete-centred, future-focused and influential across the high-performance sport system. You will work closely with the General Manager, Board and key stakeholders to strengthen governance, foster collaboration and help shape positive system-wide outcomes for athletes across Aotearoa New Zealand.
