We are working with a well-established and highly regarded construction business that is experiencing strong project demand and is now looking to appoint an experienced Construction Estimator to join their Hamilton-based team.

This is an urgent hire, offering the opportunity to step into a busy pipeline of work across both new build and fit-out projects.

The Role
You will play a key role in the pre-construction team, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates across a diverse range of commercial projects. This is a hands-on role where your expertise will directly influence project success and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed cost estimates for new build and interior fit-out projects
• Reviewing plans, specifications, and tender documentation
• Conducting quantity take-offs and cost analysis
• Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing
• Identifying risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives
• Supporting the wider team through the tender and negotiation process

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction sector
• Strong capability across both new builds and fit-out/interiors
• Excellent attention to detail and commercial acumen
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
• Familiarity with NZ construction practices and pricing
