Construction & Technical Recruitment (CTR) are proud to be partnering with a highly regarded commercial construction contractor to recruit an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor for their Taupō operation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated QS who wants to be part of a close-knit, high-performing team delivering a diverse range of commercial projects across the Central North Island.

With a strong forward workload and additional projects expected through 2026 and 2027, this role offers both career security and genuine development opportunities.

The Opportunity
Working alongside an experienced team, you will gain exposure across the full project lifecycle on a varied portfolio of builds. Projects may include commercial, education, healthcare, civic, refurbishment and specialist construction works.
You'll be given responsibility, support, and the opportunity to continue developing your commercial and contractual skills within a business that values its people.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with cost planning, estimating and tender reviews
• Prepare subcontractor packages and procurement schedules
• Manage progress claims, variations and final accounts
• Track project costs, budgets and forecasting
• Work closely with Project Managers and Site Managers to ensure commercial success
• Assist with contract administration and reporting
• Build strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and clients

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years' Quantity Surveying experience within commercial construction
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
• Strong understanding of NZ construction contracts and commercial processes
• Good numerical, analytical and negotiation skills
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work collaboratively within a smaller regional team
• Career-focused and keen to progress long term
