Job Description: Seeking an experienced Senior Controls & Automation Engineer to design, develop, commission, and support industrial automation and control systems.
This position is ideal for a hands-on controls professional with strong experience across both Siemens and Allen-Bradley platforms.
The successful candidate will be capable of taking ownership of medium- to large-scale industrial control projects, from early-stage concept and system design through programming, production, onsite commissioning, and service support.
The Senior Controls & Automation Engineer will work closely with customers, engineers, and other project stakeholders to understand operational requirements, develop practical automation solutions, and help ensure systems are delivered and supported successfully.
Essential Job Functions
Lead medium- to large-scale industrial control projects from concept through production and commissioning.
Develop, program, configure, and troubleshoot industrial automation systems using Siemens TIA Portal.
Develop, program, configure, and troubleshoot control systems using Allen-Bradley Studio 5000.
Configure and support Siemens and Allen-Bradley human-machine interface systems.
Integrate, configure, and troubleshoot variable-speed drive systems.
Translate customer and engineering requirements into reliable control-system solutions.
Support control-system design, programming, testing, implementation, and production startup.
Perform onsite commissioning, troubleshooting, and service-support activities.
Diagnose automation, controls, HMI, and drive-system issues and implement effective solutions.
Communicate clearly with customers, engineers, and other technical stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide technical guidance and support to help keep projects aligned with operational requirements.
Travel regionally as required for onsite commissioning and service support.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of five years of experience working as a Controls Engineer.
Demonstrated proficiency with Siemens TIA Portal.
Demonstrated proficiency with Siemens HMI systems.
Demonstrated proficiency with Siemens variable-speed drive systems.
Demonstrated proficiency with Allen-Bradley Studio 5000.
Demonstrated proficiency with Allen-Bradley HMI systems.
Demonstrated proficiency with Allen-Bradley variable-speed drive systems.
Proven experience managing or delivering medium- to large-scale industrial control projects from concept through production.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities across industrial automation systems.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface professionally with customers, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
Ability and willingness to travel regionally approximately 50% of the time for onsite commissioning and service support.
