Role: Senior Application Developer, Full Stack
Location: Washington, DC / Reston, VA / Bethesda, MD (Hybrid — 2-3 days onsite, with SCIF time required).
 
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Full Stack Application Developer to support a mission-critical program for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). This position will play a central role in rebuilding the program's flagship application, modernizing its architecture by transitioning from traditional virtual-machine deployments to containerized infrastructure and introducing new AI capabilities.
 
The ideal candidate will have strong full-stack development expertise across modern TypeScript and Node.js technologies, combined with experience working in enterprise Java environments and complex government systems. Experience with AI tooling, Oracle, Solr, and legacy application modernization is highly desirable.
 
This position can begin immediately and requires the ability to work in a SCIF as part of the hybrid schedule.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain the program's flagship enterprise application.
• Help lead the modernization of the application from virtual-machine-based deployment to containerized architecture.
• Develop modern front-end functionality using Angular and TypeScript.
• Build scalable backend services and APIs using NestJS and Node.js.
• Design and implement integrations with relational, NoSQL, caching, and search technologies.
• Work extensively with PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, and MongoDB.
• Develop, deploy, and troubleshoot applications using Docker and containerized environments.
• Contribute to the integration of AI capabilities and AI-enabled tooling into the application.
• Participate in application architecture, technical design, development, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Develop RESTful APIs and enterprise application integrations.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, DevOps personnel, database administrators, cybersecurity professionals, and mission stakeholders.
• Modernize and integrate existing application capabilities while maintaining interoperability with legacy systems.
• Troubleshoot complex application, data, integration, and infrastructure issues.
• Develop automated tests and participate in code reviews and quality assurance activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and development standards.
• Support deployment and operation of applications within secure government environments.
• Work within SCIF environments and comply with applicable security and operational requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
• Strong full-stack software development experience.

Compensation:
$150,000-$175,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
