Manage employees and necessary functions within the accounting department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Analyze financial information and prepare reports to determine or maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within the organization.
• Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
• Plan, direct, or coordinate activities of subordinates in the accounting department.
• Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or provide advice.
• Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
• Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems
making use of current computer technology.
• Direct daily operations of the department, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards, and setting deadlines.
• Complete required employee evaluations for subordinates in a timely manner in order to communicate successes, job-skill deficiencies, and expectations necessary for employment and advancement within the company.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
• Understand customer communication and dynamics with a strong sense of urgency to meet their needs.
• High level of computer knowledge/experience using the Microsoft Windows format to be able to adapt to other programs used for this position.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Ability to work required overtime to support manufacturing needs and requests from customers.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and stand and/or sit for long periods of time.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting (four-year college or university) or a CPA certificate.
• Three to seven years of related experience.
• Tenured - 5-10 yrs supervisory.
