Role: Physical Therapist (PT).
Location: Lancaster, PA.
 
Job Description: 
The Physical Therapist will independently evaluate, determine treatment strategies, deliver and/or delegate services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain.
 
This role encompasses evaluation skills and techniques, analysis of patients, and therapeutic application of physical and chemical agents, exercise, and other procedures to maximize the patient’s functional independence.
 
Essential Functions:

• Plan, prepare, or conduct individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, or prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
• Perform and document an initial exam, evaluating data to identify problems and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention.
• Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
• Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.
• Record prognosis, treatment, response, and progress in patient’s chart or enter information into the computer.
• Obtain patients’ informed consent to proposed interventions.
• Review the physician’s referral and patient’s medical records to help determine the diagnosis and physical therapy treatment required.
• Test and measure patient’s strength, motor development and function, sensory perception, functional capacity, or circulatory efficiency and record data.
• Discharge patients from physical therapy when goals or projected outcomes have been attained and provide appropriate follow-up care or referrals.
• Instruct the patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home.
• Administer manual exercises, massage, or traction to help relieve pain, increase patient strength, or decrease or prevent deformity or crippling.
• Direct, supervise, assess, and communicate with supportive personnel.
• Inform patients and refer to appropriate practitioners when the diagnosis reveals findings outside physical therapy.
• Provide information to the patient about the proposed intervention, its material risks and expected benefits, and any reasonable alternatives.
• Confer with the patient, medical practitioners, or other relevant parties to plan, implement, or evaluate the intervention program.
• Provide educational information about physical therapy or physical therapists, injury prevention, ergonomics, or ways to promote health.
• Administer treatment involving application of physical agents, using equipment, moist packs, ultraviolet or infrared lamps, or ultrasound machines.
• Refer clients to community resources or services.

• Will need to pass FBI fingerprint check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, and PA Criminal History Check.
• Must have a Valid PA state physical therapy license (we can hire someone who does not have it with a delayed start date).
• Must have valid CPR (we will cover costs for all future CPR courses once they start).
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
