Job Description:
Serve as an IPV6 Visionary and possess the skills necessary to lead the FBI Enterprise with developing a clear and well-defined road map to lead the agency from IPV4 to IPV6.
Required Skills:
• Lead migration from IPv4 to IPv6, perform root cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to achieve results through people, teams, vendors, and across an organization.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate with a diverse group of people.
• Ability to review network designs, configurations, and real-time traffic patterns to assess network capacity, detect suboptimal network state, and identify potential points of failure.
Desired Skills:
• Strong knowledge and extensive hands-on experience with Cisco products, including ISE.
• Solid understanding of large-scale network security deployments and Defense in Depth strategies implemented using multiple vendors (Cisco, F5).
• Hands-on experience with network automation frameworks and ability to lead engineers through the standardization/simplification benefits of Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
General Description:
• Play a crucial role in creating, maintaining, and modifying the FBI’s IPv4 and IPV6 network’s hardware, software, and virtualized components.
• Have in-depth knowledge about the network’s technological requirements and migration with Internet Protocol-based networks.
• Design and implement security countermeasures when network vulnerabilities arise.
• Play a prominent role in the design, layout, and ultimate installation of routers, switches, modems, and any other hardware and software upgrades that are essential for IPv4 migrations to IPV6 communication networks.
• Maintain, diagnose, and manage network systems being migrated and rectify any occurring issues.
• Responsible for the solution design and business development and offer technical guidance on networking solutions, production plans, testing, and roadmaps.
• Lead the design process, work alongside existing network engineers, and monitor traffic to ensure traffic flows.
• Work in coordination with the software and hardware teams to get the necessary network components and equipment in place.
• Work in collaboration with the network engineers, network administrators, and other professionals in the IPV4 and IPv6 realms to ensure maximum transition, network throughput, setup, and configuration.
• Examine and evaluate the current network performance and suggest changes as needed.
Clearance:
Active Top Secret and will require a CI polygraph after 6 months.
