Seeking a System Administrator to optimize IT systems based on DMEA requirements and apply technical knowledge of networks.

Location: McClellan / Sacramento, CA.
Job Description:
• Under general supervision, applies higher-level business or technical principles and methods to very difficult technical problems to arrive at automated engineering solutions.
• Engineer, design, install, configure, and optimize IT systems based on DMEA requirements. Have the ability to apply technical knowledge of networks, operating systems, applications, and utilities to the DMEA environment.
• Evaluate and determine computing resource requirements for ongoing and future DMEA projects.
Responsibilities:
At a minimum, the Systems Administrator will be required to perform and support the following tasks:
• Administration and management of backup and recovery solutions. Maintaining, configuring, designing, and implementing backup policies, monitoring and troubleshooting backup operations, and ensuring data integrity and recoverability. The environment is virtualized using Hyper-V, VMware Vsphere integrated with Avamar. Strong background desired in backup and recovery principles and familiarity with data protection regulations and policies.
• Virtualization platforms, such as Installation, Configuration, and Administration of Hyper-V VMware, V-Motion, Storage V-Motion, ESX/ESXi and Network/Storage IO Control, Port groups, VLAN networking, and NIC teaming on VMware, Creation, Management, and Configuration of Virtual Machines, Clone and Templates, Snapshot manager and restoring of snapshots, etc.
• Install new, rebuild, configure, modify Windows Server OS 2008/2012/2012R2/2016/2019/2022
• Patch management with WSUS and MECM/SCCM.
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
• Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
• Provide escalation support per request from various sources; investigate and troubleshoot issues.
• Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted parties.
Directory Services: Microsoft Active Directory Protocol (LDAP), and perform the following tasks:
• Develop organizational units in Active Directory (AD) and managed user security with group policies.
• Microsoft O365 and SharePoint understanding, configuring, and troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot, configure, and maintain networking devices.
• Test, deploy, and maintain all DMEA-approved software.
• Experience with scripting and/or automation tools.
• Knowledge of security policies such as DISA STIGs and other vulnerability management and remediate any findings.
• Responsible for requesting, installing, and maintaining DoD certificates on IT systems.
• Implement DoD-trained Registration Authorities (RAs), Local Registration Authorities (LRAs), and Key Recovery Agents (KRAs) to manage the organization's PKI program which includes but is not limited to the approving, suspending, recovering,g and revoking of DoD certificates.
• Perform root cause analysis of critical outages and incidents, engineer permanent solutions, and coordinate implementation.
• Engineer, install, configure, optimize, support,t and design solutions that incorporate DoD security requirements such as Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Host Based Security Systems (HBSS).
• ServiceNow and SharePoint 365 administration is a plus.
• Knowledge of ACAS and Forescout is a plus.
• Identify, analyze, and effect resolution of hardware, software, and network problems.
Position Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree. Additional experience, education, and training (commercial and/or military) may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant systems administration experience with Windows operating systems.
Certifications:
• Must possess one of the required baseline certificates under the DoD 8140.03 – Information Assurance Technology (IAT) Level II.
Note: Some military training courses may be considered in lieu of 8140.03 IAT Level II certification.

• Some military training courses may be considered in lieu of 8140.03 IAT Level II certification.
• Highly desired to have one of the following computing environment certificates but will have 6 months upon hiring:
o Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate.
o Other equivalent Microsoft certifications will be considered.
Security Clearance:
Secret but prefer Top Secret with SCI eligibility – US Citizenship required.
