Join our dynamic team at Hines VA Medical Center as a Biomedical Technician/Equipment Support Specialist - Level III, and play a crucial role in maintaining the functionality and performance of essential medical devices for the healthcare of our Veterans.

You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, from preventive maintenance to ensuring compliance with safety standards and addressing cybersecurity threats, all while contributing to the enhancement of patient care.

Responsibilities:
As a Biomedical Equipment Technician at Hines VA Medical Center, you will:

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on a diverse range of medical equipment to optimize functionality and extend equipment lifespan.
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to implement and maintain medical device security protocols, safeguarding patient data and protecting against cyber threats.
• Provide technical support and training to medical staff on the proper operation and handling of medical equipment, ensuring seamless equipment operations for enhanced patient care.

• Five years of hospital or healthcare experience performing medical equipment maintenance.
• Two-year associate degree in an applied science or equivalent military training.
• Demonstrated competency to perform operational verification procedures, planned maintenance, and repair service on various medical equipment.
• Experience with Cerner electronic health record (EHR) systems and integration.

• Understanding of regulatory agencies' requirements, industry regulatory requirements, and International Standard Organization standards.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical literature, schematics, and drawings.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Federal Public Trust clearance.
