Our valued client is a major recycling facility based in Laverton North, recycling more than 20,000 tonnes of post-consumer high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP) plastics every year — the equivalent of more than half a billion plastic milk bottles and food tubs.
 
We are currently seeking a Forklift Driver / Manual Sorter to join their busy recycling operation on an ongoing basis.
 
This is a highly hands-on role, with approximately 95% manual sorting and 5% forklift operation, making it ideal for someone who enjoys physical work and is comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment.
 
THE ROLE:

• Monday to Friday
• 7:00am - 3:00pm
• $37.06 per hour casual rate
• Ongoing casual position
• Consistent work and hours each week
• Immediate start available
• On-site meet and greet required prior to commencement

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Working as part of the recycling production team, your duties will include:

• Manually sorting recyclable materials as they come off the production lines
• Separating materials and placing them into the correct designated areas
• Performing regular manual handling and repetitive tasks
• Operating a forklift when required — approximately 5% of the role
• Keeping work areas clean, organised and safe
• Following workplace health and safety procedures
• Working efficiently as part of a busy production team

ABOUT YOU:
 
This role is physically demanding, so you must be comfortable being on your feet and performing manual handling duties throughout the day.
You must:

• Be physically fit, energetic and reliable
• Be comfortable standing and performing manual duties for up to 8 hours
• Be able to work in a noisy, fast-paced industrial environment
• Have excellent verbal communication skills
• Have a strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Be reliable and committed to ongoing work
• Be comfortable performing repetitive manual sorting tasks

REQUIREMENTS:

• Current LF Forklift Licence
• Own reliable car and valid driver's licence
• Full working rights in Australia
• Ability to commit to Monday-Friday work
• Ability to successfully complete the required on-site meet and greet prior to commencement
