Sheet Metal Assembler 

Location: Mordialloc, VIC
Shift: Monday to Thursday, 5:00am – 1:30pm | Friday, 5:00am – 11:00am
Pay Rate: $33.05 per hour

Are you an experienced Sheet Metal Assembler or Turret Punch Operator looking for a stable opportunity with an early finish every Friday? We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our growing manufacturing team in Mordialloc.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with experience operating sheet metal fabrication machinery who takes pride in producing quality work while working safely and efficiently.

About the Role

As a Sheet Metal Assembler, you will be responsible for setting up and operating turret punch machines to manufacture high-quality sheet metal components. You will work from job specifications, carry out quality inspections and ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining a safe and organised work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate turret punch machines to produce sheet metal components
• Load materials onto machines, ensuring correct alignment and positioning
• Adjust machine settings to achieve precise, high-quality results
• Read and follow job sheets and work orders
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet customer specifications and quality standards
• Identify and rectify quality issues, including material defects and incorrect measurements
• Perform routine quality checks throughout the production process
• Troubleshoot machine issues and carry out minor repairs to minimise downtime
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on machinery
• Maintain accurate production and quality standards
• Follow all Workplace Health & Safety procedures
• Keep the work area clean, organised and safe

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Minimum 1 year's experience operating turret punch machines or similar sheet metal fabrication equipment
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
• Sound knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes
• Ability to set up and operate machinery efficiently and accurately
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to identify machine faults and production issues
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices

Essential Requirements

• Current First Aid Certificate
• Strong understanding of Workplace Health & Safety
• Reliable, punctual and committed to producing quality work
