Folder Operator

Location: Mordialloc, VIC
Shift: Monday to Thursday, 1:30pm – 10:00pm | Friday, 11:00am – 5:00pm
Pay Rate: $35.00 per hour

Are you an experienced Sheet Metal or Roofing professional? We're seeking a motivated and organised Folder Operator to join our fabrication team in Mordialloc.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in roofing, sheet metal or construction manufacturing who enjoys maintaining quality standards and driving production performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

About the Role

As the Folder Operator, you will be responsible for operating the folding equipment while leading and supporting the Folder Assistant to ensure production targets, quality standards and safety requirements are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate sheet metal folding equipment safely and efficiently
• Read and interpret technical drawings and job sheets
• Plan daily workloads to ensure production deadlines are met
• Ensure completed products are folded accurately, labelled and packed correctly
• Perform quality inspections throughout the production process
• Assist with the training and development of new team members
• Report maintenance requirements, equipment faults and damaged materials
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment
• Complete end-of-shift housekeeping and equipment checks
• Ensure all Workplace Health & Safety procedures are followed

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Minimum 12 months' experience within roofing, sheet metal or construction manufacturing
• Previous experience in a factory or workshop leadership role
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• A proactive approach to problem solving
• Commitment to producing high-quality work
• High attention to detail
• A strong focus on workplace safety and housekeeping
• Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment

Essential Requirements

• Current First Aid Certificate
• Strong commitment to Workplace Health & Safety
• Ability to work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment
