Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Upper Coomera, QLD

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and client-focused Senior Accountant to join our client's team. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of their practice, providing leadership to their intermediate accountants, and building strong relationships with their valued clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Primary Responsibilities: - Manage and review the work of two intermediate accountants, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing their queries and providing expert advice.
- Transition clients from the manager to other team members, fostering a culture of shared responsibility.
- Collaborate with the offshore team to ensure efficient and accurate data entry and processing.
- Contribute to the firm’s risk management strategy by identifying potential issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Uphold and improve existing systems and processes, ensuring best practices are followed.
Candidate Profile:The ideal candidate will be a confident and articulate communicator with a passion for building client relationships. They will possess strong technical knowledge and the ability to think quickly and solve problems effectively. A proactive and team-oriented approach is essential, as is a willingness to embrace existing systems and processes. The candidate should be able to step up and keep others in check.
Key Qualifications and Skills: - A minimum of three years of experience in public practice accounting.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor junior staff.
- Experience with Xero, BGL, FYI, and Ignition is highly desirable.
Team and Reporting Structure:This role reports directly to the Manager. The Senior Accountant will work closely with two intermediate accountants and will collaborate with the offshore team.
Key Priorities in the First Six Months: - Develop a strong understanding of our client’s clients, systems, and processes.
- Build strong relationships with the team and key clients.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the practice.
- Ensure the accurate and timely completion of client work.
