Located on Sydney's northern beaches, our client's primary office is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join the team. This position would suit a qualified professional with proven taxation, leadership, portfolio management, and legislative experience. Coupled with an attractive remuneration and incentive package, work-from-home options, and a pathway to partner with the right person, opportunities like this do not often present.
About the Position: Whilst not exhaustive, the Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for:
Preparing Income Tax Returns for individuals, sole traders, partnerships, trusts and companies.
Preparing Interim and Year End Financial Statements.
Preparing monthly and quarterly Business Activity Statements (BAS) and
Preparing Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) and Payroll Tax returns.
Leading and managing a team of Accountants.
Meet and communicate directly with clients to manage queries.
Monitor compliance deadlines and lodgement due dates for clients.
Regularly liaise with the ATO and other government authorities
The Ideal Candidate:
Completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or similar i.e. Commerce, Business etc.)
Preferably CA/CPA qualified
Possess excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills
Maintain a strong work ethic and be keen to advance your accounting career
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of XERO, Excel, MYOB
Extensive experience in dealing with taxation structures, Division 7a, CGT, small business concessions, superannuation etc.
Experience reviewing jobs started by juniors, and provide training, mentoring and direction
Experience with budgeting, cash flows and other management accounting
