We have partnered with one of the world's leading organisations of independent assurance, tax and advisory firms to find a Senior Associate based in Brisbane.
 
About this Role
We are seeking a Senior Associate to contribute to high-quality risk management and internal audit engagements. This role is particularly suited to individuals with internal audit experience in the public, transport, infrastructure, or not-for-profit sectors. Ideal candidates will have experience within these industries or from large accounting firms. A solid understanding of internal audit standards, risk management, control frameworks, and audit methodologies is essential.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end client engagements with oversight and guidance from management.
• Understand clients’ risk environments and apply specialist knowledge to deliver meaningful outcomes.
• Develop engagement plans that focus on areas of higher risk and opportunities for value addition.
• Oversee on-site engagements, including client interactions, and manage junior resources while providing coaching.
• Collaborate with managers to develop high-quality reports and engagement deliverables.
• Contribute to problem-solving through analysis, critical thinking, and logical reasoning.
• Present findings to clients and stakeholders to inform decision-making.
• Review and quality-check engagement outcomes within the context of the client’s business environment.
• Manage engagement financials, including budget monitoring and identifying potential overruns.

Skills and Experience

• Experience in business risk, business process review, or internal audit.
• Strong understanding of control documentation, assessment, and business process improvement.
• Demonstrated skills in managing risk across medium to complex projects.
• Ability to create quality testing documentation and perform gap assessments.
• Proficiency in client engagement and communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills and strong report writing capabilities.
• Strong analytical skills, well-developed listening and questioning techniques, and excellent organizational abilities.
• Teamwork skills with experience supervising and developing junior staff.
• A mindset focused on continuous improvement, curiosity, and learning.
• CA or other relevant professional qualifications, such as IIA, preferred.
