Breight Group is looking for an organised and commercially minded Procurement Officer to join our team in our Rivervale, W.A. Office.
Supporting our Maintenance, Shutdown and Projects operations, you’ll coordinate purchasing activities across a fast-paced portfolio of work throughout Western Australia.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with operational teams, suppliers and internal stakeholders to source materials and equipment, manage purchase orders, follow up deliveries and help ensure our sites have what they need to deliver safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, consumables and services across operational and project requirements.
- Raise and manage purchase orders from request through to delivery.
- Source quotations and assist with supplier and pricing comparisons.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding availability, lead times, pricing and delivery requirements.
- Expedite outstanding orders and proactively identify potential supply delays.
- Work closely with Operations, Projects, Maintenance and other internal stakeholders to understand upcoming requirements.
- Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier and procurement records.
- Assist with supplier onboarding and ensure required documentation and compliance information is maintained.
- Support cost control by identifying competitive pricing and alternative supply options.
- Resolve purchasing, delivery and invoice discrepancies in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
- Build effective relationships with existing and prospective suppliers.
- Support continuous improvement of procurement processes and systems.
About You You’ll be someone who enjoys working in a busy operational environment and can confidently manage competing priorities. Ideally, you will bring:
- Previous experience in procurement, purchasing or a similar supply function.
- Experience within mining, resources, construction, maintenance or projects would be highly regarded.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence communicating and negotiating with suppliers.
- Ability to manage multiple requests and changing operational priorities.
- Good commercial awareness and a focus on value, service and delivery.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience using purchasing, ERP or procurement systems.
- A proactive approach – you follow things through and raise potential issues before they impact operations.
