As Belle PR continues to strengthen its position as one of New Zealand's leading PR and communications consultancies, we're seeking a Senior Advisor to become a valued part of our clients' teams and help deliver the thoughtful, strategic and high-quality work we're known for.
We're trusted by organisations operating in complex, highly visible environments to help them navigate reputation, stakeholder relationships, community expectations, issues, change and growth.
Our clients represent a broad range of industries, including infrastructure, local government, agribusinesses, professional services, health, not-for-profit and more.
At Belle PR, we don't spend our days unveiling PR packages, chasing likes, filling content calendars, or producing marketing and communications material for its own sake. They don't hire us because they need another pair of hands. They hire us because they need good advice that has an impact.
About the role
This is a senior role for someone who enjoys both strategic thinking and getting the work done.
No two days are the same. You may be developing a communications strategy, advising on stakeholder issues or reputational risk, pitching media stories, drafting content, planning engagement activities, or managing multiple client priorities.
You'll work directly with clients, manage your own portfolio of work and have significant autonomy, while also being part of a small, experienced and supportive team.
What we're looking for
We're less interested in flashy personalities and more interested in sound judgement.
The right person will be:
- Calm under pressure
- An exceptional writer, editor and content creator
- A great listener
- Perceptive and emotionally intelligent
- Organised and self-managing
- Relationship-focused – easy to connect with
- Able to see the bigger picture
- Naturally curious
- Confident providing recommendations and advice
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities
You’ll enjoy building long-term client relationships, balancing strategy with delivery, identifying risks and opportunities.
You’ll be comfortable assessing options, providing advice and making recommendations based on audience, objectives and risk.
What you'll bring Ideally, you'll have at least 7 years of broad/varied experience at a mid to senior level in communications, public relations, stakeholder engagement, corporate affairs, or a related field.
We're interested in people who can demonstrate:
- Strategic communications advisory experience across a range of industries
- Strong client and stakeholder relationship management
- Experience managing issues, reputation or crisis communications
- Outstanding writing ability
- Communication planning and campaign development
- The ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
- A sense of humour
Why Belle PR? We offer:
- Flexible, hybrid working environment (up to two days working from home negotiable)
- Meaningful and varied client work
- High levels of trust and autonomy
- Direct access to clients and decision-makers
- Professional development opportunities, including PRINZ membership
- Birthday leave
- A supportive team culture
- Opportunity to help shape the future direction of the business
We're intentionally a small team, working with a select group of clients so we can deliver our best work and build long term partnerships. That means your contribution is visible, valued and genuinely makes a difference.
This is an opportunity to join a respected consultancy where you’ll work directly with clients, influence important decisions and help organisations navigate complex challenges and opportunities.
One final thing... This role suits someone who values good judgement and gets satisfaction from helping clients solve complex problems and make informed decisions.
If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
Applications close Sunday 13 September 2026. To apply, please send your CV and a short cover letter outlining why this role interests you and why you believe you'd be a great fit for Belle PR. Please include examples of:
- Creative communications campaigns you've led
- Challenging communications issues you've navigated
- Complex and sensitive situations you’ve successfully helped guide
- Situations where your advice helped shape an important decision or outcome.
Only applicants with the legal right to live and work in NZ will be considered.
