Position: Patch Orchestration Engineer - Mythos Response    
Location: Canada (Remote)
Duration: 3 Months Initially, extension opportunities
Language: English (French is nice to have)
 
Background:  Kyndryl require a Patch Orchestration Engineer to support critical execution within Mythos Response activities, responsible for the rapid, controlled deployment of security patches during active threat scenarios. This role provides the hands‑on execution muscle that turns response decisions into system‑level protection across enterprise and cloud environments.
Operating under emergency change conditions, the Patch Orchestration Engineer ensures vulnerabilities exploited by active adversaries are mitigated quickly, safely, and at scale—while maintaining service integrity and supporting broader incident containment and recovery objectives.
 
Qualifications:

• Background in systems, platform, or cloud engineering
• Demonstrated hands‑on patching experience under emergency change controls
• Experience operating in high‑pressure, time‑sensitive environments (incident response, outages, live security events)
• Working knowledge of patching across heterogeneous environments (on‑prem, cloud, containerized workloads)

 
Responsibilities/Deliverables:
 

• Rapid Patch Execution
  • Execute mass patch deployment across operating systems, cloud platforms, containers, and middleware during Mythos Response events
  • Apply security fixes in response to live exploitation, zero‑day disclosures, or adversary campaign intelligence
• Accelerated Validation
  • Validate patches through compressed and risk‑aware test cycles aligned to incident severity
  • Confirm compatibility, service continuity, and security effectiveness under response timelines
• Rollback & Exception Management
  • Coordinate and execute rollback plans when patch behavior introduces instability
  • Manage patch exceptions, compensating controls, and risk acceptance in coordination with Mythos Response leads
• Automation & Orchestration
  • Automate repeatable patching workflows to increase speed, consistency, and scale during response operations
  • Improve orchestration playbooks used in recurring threat scenarios
• Response Collaboration
  • Work closely with detection, containment, and infrastructure teams to align patch actions with broader response strategy
  • Provide real‑time execution updates to Mythos Response leadership during active incidents
