Background
Kyndryl Canada is seeking a Windows Patching Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our banking client's IT team. This role focuses on managing and deploying Windows updates and patches to ensure systems remain secure, compliant, and optimized. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in patch management tools, automation, and troubleshooting within enterprise environments.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Patch & Vulnerability Management:
  Plan, test, and deploy patches, updates, and security fixes across Windows servers and desktops.
• Compliance & Security:
  Ensure systems meet security policies and industry standards; implement configurations such as Qualys.
• Tool & Process Management:
  Maintain and upgrade tools like Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) or Intune.
• Troubleshooting:
  Investigate and resolve patching failures, application conflicts, and performance issues.
• Reporting & Analysis:
  Generate compliance and vulnerability remediation reports; use data to drive strategy.
• Automation:
  Develop PowerShell scripts for deployment, reporting, and routine tasks.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  Work with security and infrastructure teams to minimize business disruption during patching.
• Documentation & Training:
  Create SOPs and provide technical guidance to team members.
• Continuous Learning:
  Stay current on Microsoft technologies, security threats, and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• Technical Expertise:
  Deep knowledge of Windows Server (2012R2, 2016, 2019-2022), Active Directory, and GPOs.
• Patch Management Tools:
  Hands-on experience with MECM/SCCM and related systems.
• Scripting:
  Proficiency in PowerShell for automation.
• Security Knowledge:
  Understanding of vulnerability management and threat mitigation.
• Problem-Solving:
  Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Communication:
  Excellent written and verbal skills for collaboration and reporting.
• Experience:
  3-5 years in Windows administration and support within enterprise environments.
