Position: Senior Systems Administrator
Client: Public Sector
Location: Ottawa (On-site)

Background:  Our Public Sector client requires a Senior Systems Administrator (Secret cleared) to assist with administering, installing, configuring, upgrading multiple technologies on-site in Ottawa for three days per week. Dell Servers and Storage, MS Windows technologies, VMware and Hyper-V
 
Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator / IT Architect
• Available to work on-site in Ottawa
• Active Secret Clearance (Absolute must have)
• Experience with the following technologies as a Systems Administrator
  • MS Windows Server
  • Dell EMC/HPE, Dell Cyber Vault, Dell PowerStore storage, Domain data protection
  • VMware and Hyper-V

 
Expected Tasks:

• Install, setup, configure, upgrade, administer and maintain operating systems including: MS Windows, MS Windows Server, Active Directory, GPOs, Unix/Linux;
• Install, setup, configure, upgrade, administer and maintain data centre hardware including Dell EMC/HPE servers, Dell Isilon storage, Dell PowerStore storage, Dell Data Domain data protection, Dell CyberVault cyber protection, and HPE Synergy systems;
• Install, setup, configure, administer and maintain Microsoft SCCM/SCOM server used to install/update software and Windows updates/security patches;
• Install, setup, configure, upgrade, administer virtual environment using VMware and MS Hyper-V;
• Install, setup, configure, upgrade, and administer McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise software;
• Install, setup, configure, upgrade, and administer Microsoft Exchange server;
• Apply problem solving skills to emulate or reproduce end-user issues in order to solve technical problems;
• Perform virtual environment and data replication and backups;
• Perform failover procedures of applications/services and data to the Disaster Recovery site;
• Analyze system performance and recommend improvements;
• Establish virtual server, virtual desktops and cloud hardware architectures and produce corresponding technical build documents.
