As an Access Community District Nurse, you will work in the community delivering essential healthcare services to clients in their homes.  

This is a highly autonomous role where you’ll deliver a wide range of clinical care in people’s homes, building therapeutic relationships with patients and whanau. 
  
You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team of nurses, including our palliative care team, support workers, coordinators and allied health professionals. Working alongside an experienced and supportive team, you’ll be trusted to use your clinical expertise while knowing guidance and support are always close by. 
  
Your scope of care will include: 

• Medication management & administration
• Diabetes management 
• Catheter cares
• Complex and non-complex wound care, including NPWT & compression therapy
• Tunnel drain management
• Palliative and end of life care (including syringe drivers) 

These are permanent PM shift positions working Monday to Friday, with shifts from 1100 hrs to 1930 hrs. We welcome applications from Registered Nurses and experienced Enrolled Nurses who are looking for consistent weekday afternoon work. Whether you are available to work five shifts per week or are seeking a pattern that better supports your work/life balance, we would be happy to discuss options that suit your availability and the needs of our service. 
  
Ngā tohungatanga mō tēnei tūranga | Skills and experience  

• Registered or enrolled with a current practising certificate 
• Experience in long‑term conditions, aged residential care, or medical nursing highly desirable 
• Experience in complex and non-complex wound care, medication administration including diabetes & syringe drivers and catheter management 
• A willingness to upskill is desirable 
• Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and sound clinical judgement 
• Strong organisational and time management skills to effectively manage and prioritise a busy caseload 
• A collaborative team player who builds strong professional relationships in the community 
• Confident with digital tools, apps, and computer systems 
• A knowledge of Christchurch an advantage 
• A current full New Zealand driver’s licence is essential
