About the role
In this role, you will be leading SA’s international operations. The role is responsible for international activities for SA including management of SA’s membership of ISO and IEC, its engagement in regional for a, and the management of SA’s contract with the Commonwealth Government through the Support for Industry Service Organisations (SISO) program. This role is also responsible for the development and capability building work programs with international partners.
What you’ll do
- Oversee SA’s participation at ISO, IEC and the Commonwealth management of the SISO program
- Oversee committee participation of Australian representatives at international forums
- Manage Australia’s participation in governance and policy forums internationally
- Oversee SA’s development and capability projects with international partners
- Ensure projects delivered by the international team are effectively scoped, planned and managed
- Manage risk relating to international participation and engagement
- In conjunction with other members of the team, develop relations with regional and global standards body partners
- Brief the CEO and other senior executives on events
- Manage and lead a team of 5 people
- Drive team performance to ensure the effective delivery of projects and publications
About you - Tertiary qualification in politics, international relations, communication or other relevant fields
- Minimum 10 years proven experience in a professional, government, commercial or similar international policy role
- Minimum 5 years proven experience in managing large funded programs of work
- Extensive understanding of Australia’s trade policy and economic diplomacy priorities, preferably in the Indo-Pacific region
- Deep understanding of the national and international standards-setting system
- Able to travel internationally a few times per year
