The Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority (PAHSMA) proudly manages three of the eleven sites that make up the Australian Convict Sites World Heritage Property, including the Port Arthur Historic Site, the Coal Mines Historic Site and Cascades Female Factory Historic Site.
Port Arthur Historic Site is a special place of complex history, heritage and compelling stories. It is a place of global significance and has become a leader in enhancing the local economy and in Tasmania’s tourism strategy. It is the winner of many national tourism awards, and Port Arthur, and, increasingly, the Cascades Female Factory have national and international recognition as a crucial part of the national story.
The role of Chair of PAHSMA provides an exceptional opportunity for a visionary leader to guide a dynamic Board and contribute to the organisation’s strategic direction. The challenge for the Board is to build on the current success in conserving and promoting the heritage values of its sites, and in harmony with these, to face new challenges, grow the business and maintain an excellent customer satisfaction focus.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate significant leadership experience at Board and senior executive levels together with outstanding commercial and business acumen. The Chair will be a highly accomplished leader who is able to uphold the highest standards of governance and engage with a diverse range of stakeholders to drive forward PAHSMA’s strategy for a sustainable future.
