Sonic Civil Investments is a leading Tasmanian civil construction and infrastructure group.
An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a highly accomplished executive and Board leader to take on the role of Executive Chair with Sonic Civil Investments (Sonic), a leading Tasmanian civil construction and infrastructure group. Sonic holds a strong portfolio of established businesses including Shaw Contracting, Hardings Group and Stornoway, each with an exemplary reputation across the public and private sectors as a trusted infrastructure delivery partner. For further information about the organisation, visit www.soniccivilinvestments.com.au.
Based in Tasmania, the Executive Chair will lead the Board while providing strategic and executive leadership across the group. Working closely with the CEOs of Sonic’s three operating businesses and the CFO, the role will shape group strategy and performance, supporting the CEOs to lead their respective businesses.
The Executive Chair will play a pivotal role in advancing Sonic’s capital strategy and shareholder framework, and strengthening the platform for sustainable long-term growth and value creation. In addition, the role will provide governance leadership and champion Sonic's interests across shareholder, government, industry and broader stakeholder networks.
The successful candidate will bring significant senior executive leadership experience, strong financial and commercial acumen and credible Board-level experience. Experience in infrastructure or a similarly complex operational environment, particularly within a privately held or employee-owned setting, will be highly regarded. A strong track record in capital stewardship, shareholder governance and frameworks, investment matters, and the formulation and execution of strategy will be essential.
This is an opportunity to help shape the future direction of a major Tasmanian-owned infrastructure group that contributes to Tasmania’s economic activity and regional connectivity.
