Tasmanian Railway Pty Ltd (TasRail) is one of the largest freight providers in Tasmania, connecting industry and commerce to major shipping ports and freight hubs across the State. As a State-owned vertically-integrated Company, TasRail is responsible for both Below Rail and Above Rail assets including freight terminals, shiploading and bulk handling facilities and is commercially focused and committed to delivering optimal and innovative logistic solutions to its customers.
An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a highly regarded and influential leader to serve as Chairperson of the TasRail Board. This role will provide strategic leadership to the Board, guiding the organisation through a significant period of investment and positioning TasRail for long-term success as a critical component of Tasmania’s transport and economic infrastructure. TasRail continues to undertake major rail infrastructure works across the network as part of the Tasmanian Rail Revitalisation Program, alongside further development of its shiploading assets and infrastructure at the Port of Burnie.
The successful candidate will bring a high level of credibility and experience at Board and senior executive levels, with sound commercial judgement and an ability to navigate a complex operational environment. They will be an accomplished leader, committed to high standards of governance and able to build constructive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders to support TasRail’s strategy for a sustainable future.
