Spirit of Tasmania is a key contributor to the Australian tourism industry, delivering a world-class ferry service to passengers and freight.
Spirit of Tasmania is recognised as a key contributor to the Australian tourism industry and for supporting Australia’s economic development through the delivery of a world-class ferry service to passengers and freight. As the company enters a period of significant financial and operational transformation - including investment in new-generation vessels, a new terminal facility in Devonport, and a renewed focus on long-term sustainability - this is an exciting time to join the Spirit of Tasmania and contribute to its future success.
The Executive General Manager Marketing is a key member of the leadership team and provides strategic advice to the CEO and the Board’s Marketing Stakeholder and Customer Experience Sub‑Committee. The role will share collective accountability for organisational performance and contribute to enterprise‑wide decision‑making, strategy development and execution.
Based in Tasmania and reporting directly to the CEO, the Executive General Manager Marketing will develop the marketing strategy and provide leadership across brand, customer insights, marketing communications, digital and performance marketing, and demand generation. It will ensure Spirit of Tasmania’s value proposition is clearly articulated and consistently delivered across all customer touchpoints, while also ensuring marketing investment delivers measurable commercial and customer outcomes.
The Executive General Manager Marketing will also work closely with internal stakeholders and a broad range of external partners, representing Spirit of Tasmania across key industry, tourism and trade forums while strengthening and protecting the organisation’s market presence and reputation.
The successful candidate will be a commercially astute executive with extensive experience leading high‑performing marketing teams, ideally within tourism, hospitality or a similarly complex, customer‑focused environment. They will bring strong strategic capability, well‑developed customer and market insight, and a proven ability to translate strategy into effective, integrated marketing activity. A collaborative leadership style, strong stakeholder engagement skills and highly developed communication and influence skills are also required.
This is a compelling opportunity to shape the future of an iconic Tasmanian brand, influence customer experience at scale, and contribute to the long‑term growth and sustainability of a nationally significant organisation.
