Based in Launceston and reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Health Service Manager – Primary Health role offers an exciting opportunity to provide leadership to the primary health care teams across the north and south of Tasmania in areas of unmet needs.
The role will lead and manage diverse teams and models of care, along with ensuring the organisation’s strategic direction and clinical governance responsibilities, including clinical risk, are well managed. It also involves managing Commonwealth and State contractual requirements and identifying new funding opportunities. Success will require strong leadership and strategic system thinking through building effective relationships with the staff, Board, Clinical Advisory Committee, communities and other key stakeholders. The role also ensures that all programs are supported by effective clinical and corporate governance systems which continue to meet national accreditation standards.
The successful applicant will have a proven track record in health management and clinical service delivery within community settings, which ideally includes three health portfolios of Dental, Physical and Mental Health, together with a background in strategic and system leadership. Experience leading and managing these multidisciplinary primary health programs and geographically dispersed teams will be critical to the success of this role. A solid understanding of clinical governance in primary health care, excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach are also required.
This position will play a key role in advancing RFDS Tasmania’s vision to improve health outcomes for all Tasmanians, particularly those in remote and rural areas, ensuring everyone has access to high-quality health care services, with one of Australia’s most reputable charities.
