The Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority proudly manages 3 of the 11 sites that make up the Australian Convict Sites World Heritage Property
The Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority (PAHSMA) proudly oversees three of the eleven sites that constitute the Australian Convict Sites World Heritage Property, including the illustrious Port Arthur Historic Site, the Coal Mines Historic Site, and the Cascades Female Factory Historic Site.
These sites are not just places of significance; they are rich in complex histories and compelling narratives that tell the story of our nation. As a leader in Tasmania’s tourism strategy, Port Arthur has garnered numerous national awards and has achieved both national and international recognition for its vital role in our collective heritage, brand and identity.
An outstanding opportunity exists for a new Non-Executive Director to join the Board to support community ideas and interactions and contribute to shaping the strategic direction of PAHSMA. The mission is to enhance its success in conserving and promoting these invaluable heritage sites while embracing new challenges, fostering business growth, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
The Director will represent the community's interests and relevance to the Port Arthur Historic Site at Board level. A strong, ongoing connection to the Tasman community is essential. The ideal candidate will also have proven experience in corporate governance and leadership, together with the ability to maintain effective professional and working relationships with stakeholders and the broader community.
In line with the State Government’s Women on Boards Strategy 2020-2025, we strongly encourage women to apply for this position.
