Position: Training & Development Design Volunteer Program Area: Volunteer Program Purpose / Objective: This role supports the planning, design and implementation of training and development materials for both staff members and volunteers of ASC Reports to: Volunteer Program Manager Commitment Period: Minimum 3 months Days and hours required per week: 5 hours a week. Flexible. Can be done on one day or split into several days. The rostering of hours and days will be negotiated to meet the availability of the volunteer and the needs of the service. Duties & Responsibilities:
Work with the Volunteer Program Manager and Head of People & Practice to identify staff members’ and volunteers’ training and learning needs.
First Project: Implement training for staff members on how to effectively work with volunteers.
Second Project: Implementing training for volunteers on core topics that affect people seeking asylum.
Use an online platform to create interactive and engaging training modules with agreed learning objectives.
Make recommendations for training improvements where appropriate.
Research and use different resources like YouTube videos, games, books and quizzes.
Introduce different evaluation methods to receive feedback from staff members and volunteers on the effectiveness of the modules.
Demonstrated time and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communications as well as presentation skills.
Able to articulate topics clearly and concisely.
Proficiency in Google Docs and use of web development tools and/or languages such as HTML.
Experience in performing technical end-user training is a plus.
Experience in working with people from various backgrounds and cultures.
Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and volunteers.
Flexibility and willingness to take on extra tasks as appropriate.
Ability to adhere to policies in relation to code of conduct, boundaries and confidentiality.

Undertake a NSW Working with Children Check prior to commencement and ensure it is up-to-date.
Support a child-safe organisation by undertaking screening for suitability to work with children and vulnerable people and to comply with relevant state/territory legislative requirements.
The Volunteer will receive a thorough induction and orientation to their role and to ASC including a detailed Workplace, Health & Safety briefing.
