Our Client
Our client is seeking an experienced Farm Operations Manager to manage a 1,336 ha breeding beef property near Euroa. The operation runs 700 Angus cows with high-quality genetics, calving in autumn and spring. The owners are professional, hands-on farmers who live off-site, so this role suits someone confident working autonomously and keeping them well informed.
The property is well set up, with modern equipment, excellent stockyards, secure water and clear laneways across undulating country. The cattle are exceptionally quiet and are handled by motorbike and on foot; horses and dogs are not used.
Key responsibilities
- Manage daily farm operations, including joining and weaning plans, calving, pasture rotation and feed budgeting.
- Handle cattle safely and carry out husbandry and animal health work, including calving, marking and weaning.
- Operate and maintain tractors, front-end loader, feed-out cart, seeding and spraying equipment.
- Maintain fencing, water and farm infrastructure; arrange and supervise contractors and work with staff from other properties.
- Keep accurate LPA, audit and herd-recording information, and maintain an orderly house, workspace and property.
About you You will bring strong beef cattle experience, excellent stock sense, and sound practical skills in pasture management, feed budgeting, and farm machinery. You can work independently, make safe decisions and keep the operation organised. A current driver’s licence is essential; a truck licence, excavator experience, chemical certification and basic agronomy knowledge will be well regarded.
What is on offer Salary of $90,000–$100,000, with an executive-style four-bedroom home with pool, an appropriate farm vehicle and excellent working conditions and infrastructure. The property is around 10 minutes from Euroa and under two hours from Melbourne.
