CEO opportunity leading recommissioning & growth of a major processing & supply chain business backed by a major institutional investment platform.
THE COMPANY
Our client is a large-scale processing and supply chain business backed by a major institutional investment platform with a long-term capital mandate and significant investment committed to the asset. Following an extensive capital works and recommissioning program, the business is preparing to recommence operations in September 2026 and enter its next phase of growth and operational development.
THE ROLE
You will lead the recommissioning, ramp-up and ongoing operation of the facility, working closely with the Board, shareholders and project leadership team. This is a broad executive role requiring strong operational capability, commercial acumen and the ability to lead across workforce, processing, supply chain, stakeholder engagement and financial performance.
Based in a highly remote location approximately one hour from Broome WA, this role will suit a resilient and hands-on leader with deep experience in meat processing and a strong understanding of northern cattle supply chains, processing economics and downstream market dynamics. The operation is strategically positioned within the manufactured protein market and requires a leader capable of balancing operational delivery with disciplined commercial execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the recommissioning and operational ramp-up of the processing facility following major capital upgrades;
• Deliver safe, compliant and commercially efficient processing operations across the site;
• Oversee operational performance across processing, cold storage, utilities, yards and associated infrastructure;
• Drive productivity, yield improvement, cost control and operational efficiency initiatives;
• Lead workforce strategy, capability development and labour planning within a remote operating environment;
• Manage key supplier, customer, regulator and community relationships, including engagement with Indigenous stakeholders;
• Provide clear operational and financial reporting to the Board and shareholder representatives.
CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must demonstrate:
• Senior leadership experience within meat processing, protein supply chains or comparable industrial operations;
• Strong operational and commercial capability across processing environments;
• A detailed understanding of livestock procurement, processing economics and value chain drivers;
• Proven leadership of labour-intensive operations and multi-disciplinary teams;
• Experience operating in remote or regional environments;
• Strong stakeholder engagement capability across regulators, suppliers, customers and local communities;
• Exposure to plant commissioning, major capital works or operational restart environments will be highly regarded.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a rare opportunity to lead the restart and long-term operation of a strategically important processing asset backed by substantial institutional capital and a committed long-term owner. The role offers significant operational responsibility, direct Board engagement and the opportunity to shape the next phase of growth and performance for the business.
