Our client is a successful, progressive and growing free-range egg farm based on strong principles of sustainability and animal welfare.  
 
THE ROLE
A vacancy has arisen for a hands-on Flock Operations Manager to work closely within and alongside a small team to ensure high standards of animal welfare and deliver agreed performance targets.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Direct, hands-on involvement in daily farm activities and organising team members to monitor the health and welfare of the flock and deliver agreed performance targets.
• Plan and deliver workforce needs in alignment with flock scheduling.
• Data capture and recording to monitor flock performance in real time.
• Induction and training of new employees
• Ensure a safe work environment
• Ensure biosecurity policy is strictly adhered to.
• Monitor and manage maintenance of farm plant and equipment.

REQUIREMENTS

• Prior experience in poultry management preferably, but not necessarily in egg layers.
• Prior experience in working in and leading, training and mentoring a small team.
• A hands-on, collaborative management style.
• Mechanical aptitude.

LOCATION Monegeetta, one hour's drive north from the Melbourne CBD.


REMUNERATION
A competitive salary package will be offered commensurate with experience.
