The Product Definition Engineer plays a key role in this by ensuring our products are as good as they can possibly be - bridging the gap between the Product Group and Development Teams.
The result of your hard work is feature ladened radios in the hands of police officers, paramedics and fire and rescue teams on the streets in many of the world’s largest cities and in some of the world’s most challenging environments.
In this role you will define the detailed functionality of Sepura's radio products. You will work with technical standards, Product Managers, Senior Development Engineers, and the wider business to:
- understand in depth feature, product, and system requirements, and in doing so help clarify functionality and the scope of projects
- develop requirements and user stories to create a definition of the product and its features
- document and maintain the product and feature definition
Overall, you will be the custodian of the developed requirements, disseminate them to stakeholders throughout the organisation, and become one of the go-to knowledge experts on products and features.
As a feature expert you will assist other Product Owners to create user stories and acceptance criteria and help them understand user story interdependencies.

Experience and skills
Essential:
- A practical history in the development of embedded software
- Experience with requirements elicitation and requirements development
- Experience working with or from technical standards, such as 3gpp or ETSI
- Experience writing functional specifications or defining product functionality using user stories or use cases
Desired:
- Experience with mobile phone technologies such as USB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS
- Experience with layered wireless communications protocols such as P25, TETRA, GSM, UMTS, 4G/LTE/5G
- Experience working in a flexible Agile project-based environment
Qualifications - Relevant degree or equivalent expertise
