JOB ROLE

A leading law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its New York office. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior litigator to gain hands-on experience across a diverse range of complex disputes, including commercial, employment, trademark, and other intellectual property litigation.

The successful candidate will work across all phases of litigation, from initial pleadings and discovery through dispositive motion practice, trial, and appeal. The role will involve matters in federal and state courts, as well as arbitration, offering meaningful opportunities to develop courtroom advocacy skills and take on substantive responsibility early in their career.


JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

• Conduct legal research and draft briefs and substantive motions.
• Manage and support written discovery and document review.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Prepare for and participate in oral arguments, hearings, and other court proceedings.
• Assist with trial preparation and trial practice.
• Support appellate litigation and briefing.
• Contribute to case strategy and the management of complex litigation matters across multiple practice areas.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• 1–3 years of litigation and/or judicial clerkship experience.
• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York Bar, or the ability to obtain admission promptly.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and advocacy skills.
• A demonstrated interest in commercial, employment, trademark, and other intellectual property litigation.
• A desire to take on hands-on litigation responsibilities, including depositions, oral arguments, and substantive motion drafting.
