Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a local authority in Wiltshire, are looking for an experienced Highway Agreements Specialist Engineer to join their team and play a crucial role in their highways operations.  

Position: Highway Agreements Specialist Engineer
Location: Wiltshire
Rate: £50 p/h (Umbrella)
Contract: 6 months (Possible Extension)

Duties:

• Supports the negotiation, preparation, and management of Section 38, Section 278, and other highway-related legal agreements.
• Ensure all agreements are legally robust, technically accurate, and compliant with statutory requirements.
• Monitor compliance with approved designs, construction standards, and maintenance requirements.
• Coordinate the delivery of highway works covered by agreements, ensuring schemes are completed on time and within budget.
• Identify and manage risks associated with agreements, ensuring appropriate mitigation measures are implemented.

Job Requirements:

• HNC/D in Civil Engineering or similar relevant subject matter and/or extensive experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of highways legislation, including Section 38, Section 278, and other relevant legal agreements.
• Good knowledge of highway engineering principles, design standards (e.g., DMRB, Manual for Streets), and construction practices.
• Knowledge of contract management, financial management, and risk assessment in the context of developer-funded schemes.
• Full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
